Not Knowing is Hard
For over 5 years, I’ve been on this journey of finding a way to create media while traveling in a form that is sustainable, enjoyable, and meaningful. And honestly, that is still a work in progress. I don’t know where or how the destination, or even the journey itself, will unfold. But, I think that’s just what it means to pursue something like this.
These types of self-paved journeys are often full of uncertainty. That’s why I suppose the more stable career paths are more popular, even among those who have the means to take a grander risk. This path is a rollercoaster. But just as there are frightening lows, there are also moments of excitement, triumph, and insight. With the lows also come humility, reflection, and courage.
I’m learning to value the things I can control; how I show up for my work, my creativity, my family, my partner, my own wellness. Taking care of my wellness is becoming foundational to how I show up for everything else, allowing me to bring a more positive, constructive, and insightful perspective. It starts with simple things, like eating and sleeping well, meditation, and yoga.
Not knowing is hard, but it’s also a gift, an opportunity to learn and grow so much more. I’m grateful for it.
Wishing for you a more helpful perspective when you need it most.
