How to Stop a Genocide

Is sharing a social media post enough?

In the face of mass killing, starvation, ethnic cleansing... is that really enough?

It's a tough question, but I also think it may be the wrong question? It's an unhelpful question that doesn't lead to helpful answers.

A more helpful question is: what more can I do?

Well, if you happen to live in a so-called democracy as we do in the United States, you can see if your designated representative is doing enough to oppose the genocide and to hold your government accountable in funding and allowing it.

And beyond contacting your representative, you can still share and make social media posts. It might seem futile, but we each do play a role, have a voice, and it's the collection of those voices that ultimately results in change.

The question of have I done enough may still burden you, as it burdens me, but I encourage us all to ask the more helpful question of what more we can do.

Wishing you well,

Naser
