Community is Underrated

There are a lot of measures of success and happiness, but one factor that I've been thinking a lot about recently is the value of community. It's no surprise really, as this is one of the more challenging aspects of the nomadic lifestyle. Still, in those instances where I meet old friends or develop new friendships, I'm struck by the significance of it - by how much energy and joy it brings in to my life.

In the current age, it is easier than ever for us to operate from and move to wherever, and even be established in no particular place at all. I move around constantly, and there is value, freedom, opportunity, and excitement in that. But there is also less community and that's something I don't think we, or rather I should take lightly.

Having a loving, caring community - having people surround you with whom you develop friendships and enjoy spending time - that, to me, is a really, really big deal. It might even be one of the most important, if not the most important factor to living a happy life.

So, I encourage you and me, to think about that. As we pursue happiness and success in our lives, how are we also valuing and nurturing our friendships and our sense of community.
